I "followed" the KKS March sketch for my card but I took a few liberties here and there...but I think it still works. I made a 5X5 square card and instead of three large circle elements I placed 3 sparkly blue Gumdrops along the side of the image.

The month of March has had a "cloud" hanging over it for me. Unfortunately, I, along with 226 of my fellow co-workers have gone on strike (if you're friends with me on Facebook you may have seen my posts and pics from the picket line). It has been a very difficult time, taking a huge toll on ALL involved, in SO many ways, some I never would have imagined. But there has been a silver lining...the solidarity, support and friendship of my brothers and sisters standing together for what is fair and just. It has been getting to know those that I don't work with on a regular basis and it has been an opportunity to grow even closer to those that I work alongside, day in and day out. It has been time spent networking with those from the trade unionist movement and a chance to engage with others who have an activist heart. It has been the little things like a big squishy hug and a thank you from my mentor, colleague and good friend, or a honk and a thumbs-up by a passing car. It has been the sheer kindness of strangers dropping by with hot chocolate on a bitterly cold day...all of this and much, much more is getting me...getting us...through this cloudy month of March.

I made my "cloud" card with the Squishy Hugs Stamp set and coloured it with Copics, cut it out with my Pierced Square STAX Die-namics, left the image in the die and inked with Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters Distress ink. I used Blueprints 3 and 8 for the larger square panels cut from Sno Cone and Paver Red Heavyweight Cardstock and used Blueprints 7 to cut the small square panel from plaid patterned paper from the Simple Stories Winter Wonderland 6X6 paper pad. The clouds are cut from Primitive White Heavyweight Cardstock with the You Move Me Die-namics and I cut the pierced scallop border from Sno Cone Heavyweight Cardstock with Blueprints 14. I stamped a sweet little sentiment from the Squishy Hugs Stamp set on Primitive White Heavyweight Cardstock cut with the circle charm tag from Howdy Frames Die-namics. I wrapped the card wit hemp twine and added a smattering of sparkly blue Gumdrops

I finished off the inside of the card too...I stamped a shadow image with Paver Red Premium Dye ink and stamped another sentiment.

I adore this sweet Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Tweetie Pies Stamp set...I just had to ink this girl for the Things with Wings KKS Challenge # 373. I coloured her and her feathered friend up with my copics, cut the image out with the MFT Pierced Traditional Tags and Traditional Tags STAX Die-namics, left the image in the die and inked with Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters Distress inks. I added in some grass and ground with my Prismcolor Pencils. I also stamped the adorable little clouds from the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Darling Dragons stamp set, coloured them with my Copics, fussy cut them out and popped them up on the tag.

I did more "Smooshing"...I'm a little obsessed with this easy technique...this time I used my Peerless Watercolors instead of using inks. I then used the pretty blue "smooshed" watercolored paper for the background panel and cut the Reverse Confetti Wreaths Confetti Cuts from the "smooshed" paper too. I stamped a sentiment from the Tweetie Pies stamp set with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink and heat embossed it with American Craft Zing White Embossing powder. I tied some blue American Craft Twine on the tag and embellished sprinkling of sparkly blue Gumdrops from Your Next Stamp.

Thanks SO much for stopping by and havin' a wee peek at my card for the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 373 - Things with Wings.

Curtain Call Challenge March 15 - Fluffy & Reverse Confetti - Whole Lotta Happy

Hello Stampin' friends! Welcome to the March 15th Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Fluffy. When I started making my card for this challenge I was taking inspiration from the pillow in the bottom lefthand side of the photo but this card ended up going in a different direction than planned. That's okay...I'm still happy with how my St. Patrick's Day card turned out and you have the flexibility to use the inspirational photo or Anything Goes.

I used MFT Heavyweight Cardstock in Spearmint and Whip Cream

I made more paper with the "Smooshing Technique" with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink and cut it Big Stripes Cover Panel Confetti Cuts. I layered it over the Spearmint Heavyweight Cardstock. I stamped the word "Happy" from the Whole Lotta Happy Stamp set on Whip Cream Heavyweight Carstock cut with the Lacey Scallop Circle panel and popped it up in the circle opening in the Big Stripes Cover panel.  I stamped the second part of the sentiment from the Whole Lotta Happy Stamp set on Whip Cream Heavyweight Cardstock and cut with a Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strip.

I made my own little shamrock with the small heart die from the Stamped Note Confetti Cuts. I just used the outline and adhered them together.  I embellished with some green glittery YNS Gumdrops and Hemp Twine.
Thanks SO much for stopping by and havin' a little look at my card for the March 15th Curtain Call Challenge - Fluffy!
