 photo MFTGUESTDT0413_edited-2RS1_zpsbd0349d0.jpg

I've been spending the long weekend stamping and making cards and listening to my fave radio station, BOOM FM! It's a Totally 80's long weekend...all the sweet OLD SCHOOL tunes they are playing inspired me to pull out this FUN LLD Accent It - Cassette Tape Die-namics and the LLD Journal It - Playlist Stamp set and made quick work of this Rockin' Birthday card!

SO, I cracked open my BasicGrey Hey Boy 6x6 paper pad and matted with MFT Replenishments Hot Fudge, Orange Fizz and Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock. I also cut the LLD Accent It - Cassette Tape Die-namics from Orange Fizz and Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock. I stamped the label from the Journal It - Playlist Stamp set with Kraft Premium Dye Ink. I layered the Cassette Tape over a Gift Card Pocket cut from Hot Fudge Heavyweight Card Stock with the Gift Card Pocket - Horizontal Die-namics...the perfect place to hide a iTunes card.  I decided to replace the scalloped border that the sketch calls for with the Chevron Stripes Border Die-namics...it's a more masculine and I thought it looked like sound waves and was more in keeping with the music theme of this card.

 photo MFTGUESTDT0413_edited-2RS4_zpsd699e544.jpg

I stamped a sentiment from the LLD Journal It - Playlist Stamp set on the negative portion from the label of the Cassette and I also stamped the word "EPIC" on that negative piece and the used the "cut and re-cut" technique to make it fit the sentiment. I pierced a hole in it and tied it to the button with Hemp cord.
 photo MFTGUESTDT0413C_edited-1RS3_zpsa5248d9f.jpg

Here is the inside...I stamped the "Old School" sentiment on that same negative portion that comes out of the label of the LLD Accent It - Cassette Tape Die-namics and again I cut it down to fit the size of the sentiment. I also stamped another sentiment from the LLD Journal It - Playlist Stamp set on the Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock on the Sweet Stack Labels Die-namics.

Thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card with the great sketch that we have this month for the MFT Guest DT Contest. I hope you can join the MFT March Guest Designer Contest for a change at a prize value over $200. Remember you have until Sunday , April 7 at NOON EST to enter!!! Good Luck!
Happy Stampin'!

(I flipped the sketch around for my card)

 photo MFTWSC117D_edited-1RS4_zpsf34db01e.jpg

I was in need of a special birthday card for one of my dearest friends and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the super sweet Doodle Garden - Party Time stamp set and thought she would be perfect for this card! So, I inked her up and coloured her with my Copics. On a side note, have you seen the MFT Academy - Colouring Hair with Copic Markers by MFT Prof. Michele?! Well, it is fabulous and so I decided to take some extra time and care colouring this DG Party Time girl and really tried to apply Michele's helpful tips and techniques on colouring the DG Party Time girl's hair. These Doodle Garden Stamps are perfect for practicing your hair colouring technique.  You can check out the MFT Academy Colouring Hair with Copic Markers tutorial by Michele HERE...it is very informative and SO worth the read!!!

I also bought some new BasicGrey 6x6 paper pads...like I need another 6x6 pad but I'm in LOVE the new collections...I cracked open this Hey Girl 6x6 pad....SO pretty! I thought the pattern with the numbers worked so well with the sentiment from the DG Party Time Stamp set. I matted with MFT Replenishments Heavyweight Card Stock in Gumdrop Greed, Blu Raspberry and Pink Lemonade the co-ordinate perfectly with the BG Hey Girl papers! I found a BasicGrey fabric brad in my stash that coordinated with the papers too and tied a Hemp Cord bow around it. I stamped the sentiment on Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock with Blu Raspberry Premium Dye Ink and cut it out with the Fishtail strip from the Sentiments Strips Die-namics...this is one of my all time FAVE Die-namics.
 photo MFTWSC117E_edited-1RS8_zps2fdd23dd.jpg

Here is close up of my colouring of this sweet Doodle Garden - Party Time girl. I also made a layered circle panel with the Circle STAX 1 and 2 and the Dainty Doily Die-namics cut from Blu Raspberry Heavyweight Card Stock layered over a corrugated cardboard circle.

 photo MFTWSC117C_edited-1RS3_zpsa3fb9213.jpg

And, as always, I finished the inside. I stamped a shadow image of the Doodle Garden Party Time girl with Pink Lemonade Premium Dye Ink. I used the Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics and the Circle STAX 1 and 2 for the circle panel. I stamped another sentiment on the Fishtail Strip from the Sentiment Strips Die-namics and I stamped the "sweet friend" sentiment from the Doodle Garden - Sweet Friend Stamp set on the circle tag from the Howdy Frames Die-namics.

Well, thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card with this week's MFTWSC117 sketch! I hope you can join us...just make a card with the sketch and upload it to SCS using the proper keyword, MFTWSC117  by Tuesday, April 2nd at noon EST, for your chance at our weekly prize! Here is the great sketch that we for you to use!

 photo MFTWSC116E_edited-1RS5_zpsd02734be.jpg

My 13 year old daughter, Hannah, has decided to take up baking and we are all thrilled to eat her delicious confections. We bought her a KitchenAid stand mixer recently and she has been whipping up cookies and many sweet treats for us. I'm really proud of her as I'm SO not into baking and cooking. I thought I would ink up this sweet Pure Innocence Fresh from the Oven in honour of Hannah's new interest in baking. I paired the PI Fresh from the Oven girl with these pretty and homey MME Remarkable 6x6 papers. I matted with the gorgeous NEW Electric Red Heavyweight Card Stock and with Gumdrop Green and Night Shift Blue Heavyweight Card Stock.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set on Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock and stamped with the NEW Electric Red Premium Dye Ink...LOVE this new Electric Red ink too!!!!

 photo MFTWSC116D_edited-1RS4_zpsdf15c0f6.jpg

I coloured the PI Fresh from the Oven girl with my Copics and paper pieced her outfit. The sentiment circle is made with the mini Dainty Doily from the Mini Doily Circles Die-namics and the Circle STAX Die-namics. I added some a Hemp cord bow.To make the long narrow rectangle panel I actually sued the Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Layers STAX and I used Joanne B.'s "cut and re-cut technique" to cut off the fishtail portion.
 photo MFTWSC116C_edited-1RS3_zpsfa949e10.jpg

Here is the inside...I stamped the PI Fresh from the Oven girl in Electric Red Premium Dye Ink and also stamped a sentiment from the set on Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock cut with one of the die-namics from the Sentiment Strips Die-namics. I layered it over a Dainty Doily form the Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics.  I also stamped "Thank You" from the PI All Occasions Sentiment Set on the tag from the Howdy Frames Die-namics.

Well, thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card with this week's MFTWSC116 sketch! I hope you can join us...just make a card with the sketch and upload it to SCS using the proper keyword, MFTWSC116  by Tuesday, March 26th at noon EST, for your chance at our weekly prize! My Favorite Things Stamps...MFTSCRAP6...You Rock My World!

 photo MFTSCRAP6B_edited-1RS2_zpsc4dcc12c.jpg

Hello Stampin' and Scrappin' friends! It's time to ROCK and ROLL with this month's MFT Scrap Sketch and we also have a Project Life version of the sketch for you to use if you so wish! We are glad to see you joining us each and every month for the Scrap Sketch challenge!

There will be a random draw from all the participants who upload their Scrap and PL Samples to SCS using the keyword this month MFTSCRAP6.  Two winners will be chosen each month and the winners will receive a $15 gift voucher.  If the winner has used MFT stamps, they will receive $5 bonus bucks, for a total of $20. We really look forward to seeing your scrapbooking pages and PL pages using your MFT Stamps and Die-namics. You have until noon Monday, April 15th to play along. So, ROCK ON and GET YOUR SKETCH ON with MFT this month!

Here is the great Scrap Sketch that we have this month!
 photo MFTSCRAP6_edited-1_zps1a40ee96.jpg

I wanted to scrap another pic from some old photos taken by a friend. This time I picked a favorite photo of me and Kieran...he is my little Rock Star, that's for sure! Nothing like that mother/son bond...I'm his biggest fan! He was such a mamma's boy and ALWAYS sitting on my lap or clung to my leg :) I love this pic it brings back sweet memories of him when he was little...now he is almost as tall as me....where does the time go?!

I started out by first picking my papers and these MME Follow Your Heart Be Amazing 12X12 papers spoke to me.  As I was flipping through them one sheet caught my eye. It had the phrase "Listen to Your Soul". Well, that sounded like some good advise (he, he, he, sorry, I couldn't resist)...it started the wheels turning and helped to establish the direction for the page. I pulled out the NEW Laina Lamb Document it - Rock On and NEW Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics to make this page for and about my little Rock Star with some ROCKIN' words of wisdom!

 photo MFTSCRAP6H_edited-1RS8_zps14bcc3ed.jpg

Since this is a "boy" page I added this layered star embellishment using the NEW Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics and the Star STAX Die-namics, instead of the flower that the sketch calls for. I also used the Uppercase and Lowercase High Rise Alphabet Die-namics to add in Kieran's name and cut it out from black corrugated cardboard. I matted the photo on Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock and popped it up from the page on foam squares.

 photo MFTSCRAP6D_edited-1RS4_zps968623a5.jpg

On one small strip of the pattern paper there is a double row of small burnt orange stars and diagonal aqua stripes. I wanted to replicate this pattern in other places on the page to make things more cohesive. So, I turned to my wonderful MFT stamps for some help. I used the small stars stamp from the NEW LLD Document It - Rock On Stamp set and the diagonal stripes stamp from the NEW Lollipop Additions - Birthday Stamp set and stamped with the beautiful NEW Blu Raspberry Premium Dye Ink. Can you see it? The double row of tiny stars is the pattern paper but the row of  5 stars is the stamp from the Rock On Stamp set....isn't that cool?! I'm thrilled to bits with how this turned out...to achieve the distressed/imperfect look, I stamped off on scratch paper and then stamped directly on the page in strategic places.

I also stamped several sentiments from the NEW LLD Document It - Rock On Stamp set with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink on Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock cut with Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Layers STAX Die-namics. I stamped the cute little iPod controls on Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock cut with the circle die-namics from the Accent It - labels and Tabs Die-namics with NEW Blu Raspberry Premium Dye Ink and popped it up by the LIVE LOUD sentiment.

 photo MFTSCRAPE_edited-1RS5_zps7253aeee.jpg

I also stamped sentiments from the LLD Document It - Rock On Stamp set and cut them with the Circle STAX Die-namics to make tags. I layered them with a glittery silver circle, punched a hole with my Crop-A-Dile and tied it with black twine. I popped up the tag over a Chocolate cork heart cut with the Heart STAX Die-namics and sprinkled a few tiny silvery glittery stars and chocolate cork stars with black gems.

I also used the Accent it - Labels and Tabs and stamped with the LLD Document It - Right This Way Stamp set with the NEW Blu Raspberry Premium Dye Ink. I also got a little daring on this page and decided to add in some ink splatters and splotches. I cracked open my new Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Black Velvet and spritzed some on my non-stick craft sheet and then dipped a paint brush in it and tapped the brush in specific spots this afforded me a lot more control over the splatter. I LOVE how this looks and the little splotches have a slight shine to them IRL! LOVE it!

 photo MFTSCRAP6G_edited-1RS7_zps4ec91f8d.jpg

I adore this sentiment from the LLD Journal It - For the Record Stamp set. I stamped it on Whip Cream Heavyweight Card Stock with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink and cut it out with Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics. This cluster is layered over a circle of pattern paper cut with the Circle STAX Die-namic.

 photo MFTSCRAP6J_edited-1RS10_zps290195ce.jpg

Here I used the Open Scallop Doily Die-namics cut from black corrugated cardboard and a circle cut with the Circle STAX from pattern paper.  I've also cut out and added several musical notes cut from silver cardstock with the Musical Notes Die-namics.

 photo MFTSCRAP6F_edited-1RS6_zps094cada5.jpg

The Open Scallop Doily was the perfect home for another embellishment cluster. So I added a tag, layered star and I used the cute guitar pick from the NEW LLD Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics stamped with the sentiment from the NEW LLD Document It - Rock On Stamp set.

Well, thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my 12X12 page with this month's MFT Scrap Sketch MFTSCRAP6! I hope you can find some time to get scrappy! We love seeing you pages and remember there will be a random draw from all the participants who upload their Scrap and or PL Samples to SCS using the keyword this month is MFTSCRAP6 and you have until noon Monday, April 15th. photo MFTWSC115FlutterBy_edited-1RS1_zps4e0b1ab7.jpg

I inked up the super cute NEW Doodle Garden - Fluttering By Stamp set. I coloured her with my Copics, paper pieced her dress and added in some grass with my PrimaColor Pencils. I cut the image out with one of the rectangle from the NEW Blueprints 1. I left the image in the rectangle die-namics and inked with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. I flipped the sketch around to fit my image and moved the adorable jumbo felt bow slightly. I cut the NEW Jumbo Beautiful Bow Die-namics from MFT Replenishments Razzle Berry Felt. I added a Razzle Berry Button tied with Hemp Cord and stamped the sentiment from the NEW Doodle Garden - Fluttering By Stamp set on the tag from the NEW Blueprints 1 Die-namics.  I also cut the stitched strip from the NEW Blueprints 1 Die-namics from the Razzle Berry Felt too.

 photo MFTWSC115FlutterByD_edited-1RS4_zps2ed2d457.jpg

Here is a close up of my Fluttering By girl...she is too darn cute and I LOVED colouring her long wavy hair. I added some Stickles to her wings and her Butterfly wand! I also added Pink Vivia Decor Pearls to her antennae.

 photo MFTWSC115FlutterByC_edited-1RS3_zps8cab7eb1.jpg

Here is the inside...I stamped a shadow image of the NEW Doodle Garden Fluttering By girl in Razzle Berry Premium Dye Ink. I made a sentiment panel with my fave Layered Labels Die-namics.
