My Favorite Things Stamps...WSC # 138 and Catered Crop Swap - Map It...Good Times!

Hey stampin' friends...and scrappin' friends! Just popping by to share a page that I made with some NEW My Favorite Things stamps and Die-namics from the August release. I have to say I'm really missing the MFT monthly ScrapSketch...it was always great inspiration for me to get some pics scrapbooked each month...and I'm hoping they bring it back at some point...fingers crossed!  In the meantime,  I thought I could use this week's MFTWSC138 for some pics from our weekend in the Muskokas at my brother's girlfriend's, family cottage on Lake Rosseau. I am also entering this page in the Catered Crop Swap - Map it Recipe Swap (I used some map-themed pattern paper from the BasicGrey Serenade 12X12 paper pack.)

Here is the great sketch that I used and made some minor adjustments to fit my pic size.

 photo MFTWSC138_edited-1RS1_zps716add94.jpg

My son, Kieran, did some tubing at the cottage and he had a great time...although he didn't have quite the "need for speed" that I thought he would...I was totally okay with that, smile! I love the expression on his face in this pic and so I wanted to really make it the focal but I have a several other tubing pics that I plan to scrapbook on smaller 6X4 and 3X4 "cards" to fit in the pockets of a divided sleeve from my We R Memory Keepers Albums Made Easy.  I used BasicGrey Serenade 12X12 papers and My Favorite Things Stamps Replenishments Heavyweight Card Stock in Steel Grey, Steel Blue, Smooth White and Sno Cone. I also used MFT Premium Dye Ink in Fuse, Steel Blue and Kraft.

 photo MFTWSC138C_edited-1RS3_zpsd2f51020.jpg

The NEW LLD Accent It - World Traveler Die-namics was perfect for my page...I used the ship icon and layered it with Circle STAX and Pierced Circle STAX Die-namics. I also used the NEW LLD Document It - Enjoy the Journey Stamp set. I stamped some random arrows with the arrow stamp from the LLD Document It - Enjoy the Journey Stamp set in Kraft Premium Dye Ink. I added a smattering of epoxy dots here and there too.

 photo MFTWSC138D_edited-1RS4_zps8a5014e0.jpg

I also used the LLD Accent It - Celebrate Die-namics for the title cut from Smooth White Heavyweight Card Stock. I also used some map paper from the BasicGrey Serenade 12X12 paper pack for the Map It Recipe Swap at Catered Crop Swap to cut the fishtail flags with the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics. I stamped the detour stamp from the LLD Document It - Enjoy the Journey Stamp set with Steel Blue Premium Dye Ink on Smooth White Heavyweight Card Stock and cut it out.

 photo MFTWSC138E_edited-1RS5_zps1da29fd5.jpg

Here, I used the Catch a Wave Border Die-namics I wrapped some Hemp cord around and a cute anchor from the LLD Accent It - World Traveler Die-namics. I also used the smallest die from the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics, cut more map paper and stamped the date with the LLD Document It - Days and Date Stamp set.

Well, thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my 12X12 page for the My Favorite Things Stamps - MFTWSC138 sketch challenge and the Catered Crop - Map It Recipe Swap.

My Favorite Things Stamps...Sweet Greetings!

Hey stampin' friends! I wanted to share this card that I made with the super cute NEW Pure Innocence Pretty Pumpkin Stamp set from the My Favorite Things Stamps August release. I LOVE PI Pretty Pumpkin to bits she is SO cute yet SO versatile...she is definitely not just for Halloween! I made this fun, vibrant birthday card with her....perfect to send some sweet greetings to a special someone!

 photo MFTPIPrettyPumpkinB_edited-1RS2_zps730421bf.jpg

I made the card with AC Amy Tangerine Sketchbook 6X6 paper pad. I coloured the PI Pretty Pumpkin girl with my Copics and paper pieced her out-fit, cut her out and popped her up on the Open Scallop Doily Duo. I stamped one of the several cute and versatile sentiments from the PI Pretty Pumpkin Stamp set on pattern paper cut with the Dog Tag Die-namics and tied with Hemp cord. The flowers are made with the Flower Medly Die-namics and added black brads to the centers of the flowers.

 photo MFTPIprettypumpkin_edited-1RS1_zps6767635f.jpg

Not sure if you noticed that I made my own tissue paper/Washi Tape for this card. It is FUN and easy!

  photo WashitapetutorialJRS1.jpg

All you need is some white tissue paper, double-sided tape, stamps and ink. I used several of the little accessory stamps from various MFT Stamp sets...a great way to use the little hearts, flower, stars and fun sentiment stamps that MFT includes in many of their stamp sets. I used the great pattern and accessory stamps in the Lollipop Treat - Halloween, Love and Birthday Stamp set and of course, if you have the fabulous Washi Patterns Stamp set, use it, it's perfect for making your own Washi tape.

  photo WashiTapetutorialD_edited-1-1.jpg

I love the semi-transparent feel of the tape using white tissue paper cut and layered over inexpensive double sided tape (I used tape from the dollar store not my good Scor-Tape). Then stamp away, on the tissue paper that is adhered to the double-sided tape, with all the various accessory stamps or border stamps that you have in your stash.

 photo WashiTapetutuoialKRS2.jpg

Finally, peel the backing off and adhere to your card/paper, scrapbooking page.

 photo MFTPIPrettyPumpkinD_edited-2RS4_zps8169c5aa.jpg

Here is the inside of the card and more "homemade" tissue/Washi Tape, a few more pretty flowers with the Flower Medley Die-namics. I also used the High Rise Lowercase Alphabet Die-namics for the sentiment.

Well, thanks SO much for stopping by and havin' a wee peek at my card with the sweet NEW Pure Innocence Pretty Pumpkin and  I hope you get a change to make your own tissue tape/Washi tape with all your accessory and border stamps!

My Favorite Things Stamps...Cottage Birthday!

Hey Stampin' friends! I've been enjoying a bit of a stampin' and bloggin' break, soaking up the beautiful summer sun! We've been camping and have another camping trip planned this month and we are looking forward to our trip to Chicago at the end of the month too.  We were SO lucky to get an invite to spend the civic long weekend at my brother's girlfriend's (Kate) family cottage on Lake Rosseau in Muskoka. WOW! What a fabulous time we had! It was Kate's mother's birthday so I made this card for Martha before we hit the road.
I thought this pretty BasicGrey Mint Julep paper had a summery, cottage feel. I made the card 6X6 from Kraft heavyweight Card Stock and matted with MFT Heavyweight Card Stock in Red Hot.
I used this sketch as a jumping-off point for this card.

  photo MFTCottageb-day_edited-1RS1_zpse3a7ca25.jpg
I used the MFT Inspired By the Front Porch - Spring Stamp set...the image looks exactly like the cottage porch and was perfect for my card. I stamped the porch image in MFT Kraft Premium Dye Ink on Primitive White Heavyweight Card Stock and cut it out with the Circle STAX. I  layered it over a Pierced Circle cut from Red Hot Heavyweight Card Stock with the new Pierced Circle STAX. I also added some pretty MFT Replenishments Kraft Grosgrain ribbon and added a blue button tied with Hemp cord. I cut the tag from Primitive White Heavyweight Card Stock with the tag die from the Blueprints 2 and stamped the sentiment from the Lisa Johnson Designs Birthday Greetings Stamp set. The flowers are from the new Blueprints 5 set and are cut from Banana Heavyweight Card Stock I used a Copic Toner Grey marker to enhance the embossed line in the flower.

Here is the inside... I stamped another sentiment from the Lisa Johnson Birthday Greetings in Red Hot Premium Dye Ink and a few more pretty Banana and Red Hot flowers from Blueprints 5.
