For some reason I'm in the mood for Autumn and for the cooler temps and the changing of the leaves.  I picked up this gorgeous American Crafts 6x6 paper pad at Micheals the other day and I am totally in love with it. I couldn't find the name of the pad anywhere on it but regardless the gorgeous Autumnal colours and homey patterns are so appealing. I paired the pretty AC papers with this sweet Pure Innocence Stamp set called Caramel Apple. I coloured her with my Copics, paper pieced her out-fit and cut he out with my Rectangle STAX Die-namics, then drew in some fall grass with my Prisma Colorpencils and inked with Antique Linen and Scattered Straw Distress inks.

Photobucket

The cute sentiment is from the PI Caramel Apple Stamp set and I stamped it on white card in Rhubarb Stock Memento Ink and then cut it out with the bracket Tab from the Mini Tab Foursome Die-namics.

Here is the inside of my card...I stamped the cute PI Caramel Apple girl in Rhubarb Stock Memento ink and stamp another sweet sentiment from the set on white card cut with the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics.

My Favorite Things...September Design Team Creative Challenge...No Patterned Paper!

Photobucket

Hello Stampin' friends! Welcome to the September MFT Design Team Creative Challenge. This is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to create a card or project with no patterned paper.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

I must say that this was quite the challenge for me to not use ANY patterned paper!!! I absolutely adore patterned paper it is one of the things that I just can't really craft without but I took the challenge this month...NO PATTERNED PAPER, as scary as it was. So, I decided to make a Christmas card set.  It just so happened that my order of gorgeous MFT Heavyweight card stock arrived in time and it wasn't so difficult after all. I used MFT Heavyweight card stock in Kraft, Whip Cream Natural, Hot Fudge, Jellybean Green and Paver Red. The First card measures 5.5 X5.5 and the other four coordinating cards are A2 - 4.25 X5.5.

Photobucket

I thought I would use this beautiful MFT Inspired By Christmas Stamp set. One of the things that I thought would be important on a card without any patterned paper is texture. So, I have added several different elements to the cards to add texture and interest.

I have been wanting to use the Crystal Ballz that I've had in my stash for a while and thought it would add some pretty sparkle and texture to my cards. I stamped the image with VersaFine Sepia Ink, cut the image with my Circle STAX Die-namics and also used the Circle STAX  Die-namics to cut the double sided Crystal Ballz tape to fit the image perfectly....not need to trim around it...love that. I removed the backing, laid the double sided tape over the image and removed the top liner paper and sprinkled the Crystal Balls all over the image, making sure to get good coverage and patting them down a bit to make sure the were good and secure. I also embossed the Paver Red panel with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I then cut some corrugated cardboard with the NEW Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX Die-namics and used the NEW Large Fancy Flourish Die-namics and cut it up and added just a piece of it tucked up under the main panel. The sentiments were stamped with Schoolhouse Mix'd Media Inx and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I also added some scrumptious Paver Grosgrain Ribbon.

Photobucket

Here is a detail shot...I wanted you to see the effect of the Crystal Ballz over the image but unfortunately it didn't photograph well but it is a very pretty effect. The little circle tag is from the Let's Toast Die-namics set...love this little tag. I stamped and embossed a sentiment from the IB Christmas set. I layered it over a circle cut form corrugated cardboard and tied it with some AC brown twine.

Photobucket

I kept the inside of all the cards very simple; stamping and heat embossing the image and sentiment on Whip Cream card stock.

Photobucket

On this card I have cut the Santa from the Inspired By Christmas Stamp set with my Oval STAX Die-namics and layered him over the Dainty Doily Die-namics cut from corrugated cardboard. I embossed the Whip Cream Panel and added the NEW Harlequin Border Die-namics cut from Jellybean Green Heavyweight card stock.  The sentiment is stamped on white card cut with the Sentiment Strips Die-namics and stamped in Mossy Mix'd Media Inx and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Photobucket

Again a simple inside.
Photobucket

This card features the sleigh bells stamp from the Inspired By Christmas Stamp Set. I embossed the Whip Cream panel and added a Paver Grosgrain ribbon Bow.  I cut a Large Fancy Flourish cut from Hot Fudge Card stock and tucked pieces here and there.

Photobucket

This is the inside.

Photobucket

Another card with the sleigh bells...I cut the main panel with the NEW Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX and used the Double Dots Border Die-namics.

Photobucket

Here is the inside.

Photobucket

The last card features the sleigh from the Inspired By Christmas Stamp Set. It is stamped in Leather Mix'd Media Inx and cut with the Rectangle STAX Die-namics. I tucked a corrugated Open Scallop Doily behind the main image, cut with the Open Scallop Doily Duo. I also used the Double Dots Border Die-namics and the Large Fancy Flourish Die-namics.

Photobucket

And the inside...

Well, thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at the cards for this month's MFT Design Team Creative Challenge...NO PATTERN PAPER! Please, swing on by the MFT Blog to see links to all the designers that took the Creative Challenge this month!

Saturated Canary Challenge # 26...I'm stuck on you!

Photobucket

Hey stampin' friends! Hope you are having a great weekend! I've been getting crafty today and made this card for the Saturated Canary Challenge # 26! When I saw this super cute Washi Tape Kinda Girl digi over at the Saturated Canary Online Stamp Shop  a couple of weeks ago, I just had to have her....ummm....along with a few other super cute SC digis :) Well, the Washi Tape Kinda Girl had been printed out and on my desk, ready to go...I couldn't resist colouring her any longer!  So, for the challenge at the Saturated Canary Challenge blog this week you need to use at least 2 things that start with the letter "B"...what a great challenge!!!

My "B's" are...buttons, a bow, blue and does the the Washi Tape Kinda Girl's cute bun count too :) (she SO reminds me of my daughter, Hannah, she is on a serious sock bun kick lately)

Photobucket

My card base is 6x6 from Bazzill Kraft cardstock and MFT Blue Raspberry and Bubblegum Heavyweight cardstock. I paired it with this American Crafts 6x6 paper pad that I scored at Micheals...the pad doesn't seem to have a name on it but I love it....may just have to go get another one! I also picked up some Washi tape that was 50% off to go with my SC Washi Tape Kinda Girl.  I coloured the Washi Tape Kinda Girl with my Copics and cut her out with my Rectangle STAX Die-namics and inked with Spun Sugar and Pumice Stone Distress ink. I made some pretty felt flowers with the gorgeous new Flower Medley Die-namics and MFT Replenishments Felt in, Bubblegum, Blue Raspberry, Sno Cone and Banana Split and Jellybean Green for the leaves. I added Blue Raspberry Buttons to the centers with Hemp Cord. I also cut the Wonky Scallop Border Die-namics from Sno Cone felt and layered it with some white cotton lace trim and cotton lace bow tied with Hemp cord. I cut the hearts and photo corner from corrugated cardboard with MFT Hearts of Plenty Die-namics and the Photo Corner Die-namics.

Photobucket

I printed out the sentiment and cut it out with the Fishtail Sentiments Strip from the the Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

Photobucket

Here is the inside...I printed the Washi Tape Kinda Girl again for a shadow image. I used the Well Worn Greetings Die-namics for the sentiment label and stamped this sentiment from the MFT Who's That Girl, Who's that E Girl stamp set...I added another felt flower and corrugated hearts.

Thanks SO much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card for this week's challenge over at the Saturated Canary Challenge blog!

All the fabulous new Halloween stamps and Die-namics from the September MFT release had me still in a Halloween mood and so I inked up this cutie...PI Little Witch...love her to bits and I paired her with my fave Halloween paper pad...MME Mischievous 6x6 pad...really getting down to only a few odd sheets in this pad :(

So I coloured the PI Little Witch with my Copics, paper pieced her out fit and cut her out with the RECTANGLE STAX Die-namics. I coloured in some grass with my Prismacolour pencils and did a little inking with some Pumice Stone Distress ink for s spooky night sky.  I used the fabulous new Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX here for the Fishtail element that the sketch calls for...love the new JUMBO Fishtails...a must have. I stamped a cute sentiment from the PI Little Witch stamp set on white card cut with one of the Mini Tabs from the Mini tabs Foursome Die-namics.

Photobucket

Here is the inside of my card...I stamped the PI Little Witch again in Morocco Memento Ink and made a sentiment panel with the RECTANGLE STAX Die-namis, the JUMBO Fishtail Banner STAX and the oval die from the Well Worn Greetings Die-namics.
