MFT March Guest DT...Dimension with Die-namics & WSC #8...Happy Bird-day!

Photobucket
Hey stampin' friends! I am back to share a card I made for the My Favorite Things March Guest DT contest and I also used the great sketch that they have this week for the Wednesday Stamp Club challenge...sketch #8...haven't missed a WSC challenge yet...whoo hoo! Hope I can keep it up! This month the GDT contest is to create Dimension on your card with MFT Die-namics dies. So, I saw a video about a new product called filter paper shapes by Fancy Pants and how to use it! It looks really cool but I figured I could make my own cute dimensional floral embellies by cutting some coffee filters with my Die-namics and Nestie dies and spritzing them with Glimmer Mist. I used my Die-namics Perfect Petal Trio die set and Nestie Blossom dies and cut several layers of coffee filters as it needs the thickness to get a nice clean cut. I spritzed with Candy Apple and Hula hoop Glimmer Mist and crinkled and puffed them up. I made my card with American Crafts cardstock and I used this gorgeous Be Mine paper by Echo Park Paper Co. again...hope you're not too sick of seeing it!

Photobucket

I also used the Die-namics Textile Rectangle die and stamp set and the Simply Scallops border die. I bent up the edges of the scallops to give it a little more dimension. I added some pearls and bling and pin satin ribbon and bow. The sentiment is from my new PI set, You're So Tweet, that I bought with my $20 winnings from Wednesday Stamp Club challenge #4...YAY!!!!

Photobucket
Here is the inside...I used the PI girlie and her tweet little friend and stamped them in London Fog Memento ink...love it! I used the The Die-namics Framed Greeting Die and Stamp Set and stamped one of the other sentiments from the You're So Tweet PI set.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my card! Keeping my fingers crossed that march is my lucky month...and that I get a chance at the MFT GD spot!!!!

Have a stampin' great day!

Photobucket
Now for my card I use Andrea Acorn she is so cute and I love the sentiments that come with her as well as an acorn accessory stamp! I coloured her with my Copics and cut out the image leaving a little white border around the image! I used some Fancy Pants paper that I had in my stash. I love the autumnal colours in this paper and I thought it would be great with Andrea Acorn! I used my square Nesties and square Scalloped Neties and I used my MFT Simply Scallop Die-namics border die as well! I added some Prima Caboodles flowers and a sprinkling of green gems here and there to embellish! I also added some American Crafts ribbon. The sentiment is stamped on the bracket frame that is a QuicKutz 2x2 die.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps & Cute Card Thursday # 153...Happy Day!!

Photobucket
Good morning Krafty friends! Just a quick post this morning to let you know that Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring the challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday! They have a gorgeous sketch this week! I hope you can join the fun and get a chance to win some Kraftin' Kimmie Rubbah cuz that is the fabulous prize this week!!!!

For my card, I followed the fabulous sketch but I did flip the position of the sentiment and flowers as things just fit better on my card that way! I used this fabulously fun Gal, Patsy from the new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Fifties inspired release. Patsy totally reminds me of one of my fave TV shows, Happy Days....she is sooooo fun! I teamed her up with some Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday paper. I coloured Patsy with my Copics, of course and then cut the image out with my Circle Nesties using the "Out of the Box" technique, left the image in the die and inked with Spun Sugar Distress ink. The sentiment is actually cut from the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday Elements sheet and I embellished with some seam binding, Prima flowers and pink Pearls. I also used my My Favorite Things Open Scallop Die-namics border die and the photo turns are cut with a QuicKutz 2x2 die.

Photobucket
Here is the inside... I stamped the Jukebox from the new release with Memento ink in Rose Bud and I stamped one of the two sentiments that comes with the Jukebox stamp!

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps  and Cute Card Thursday card! I hope you get some krafty time this week and can join the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday!

Have a Happy Day!!!!!

I followed the fabulous sketch #142 that they have this week over at Friday Sketchers and I really love how it turned out! I searcd for some coffee and cream papers in my stash and decided on to use sheets from my Crate Paper Snow Day 6x6 paper pad and a few other Crate paper sheets and some gorgeous chocolate Prima flowers in the centre of one of the flowers I used a gorgeous American Crafts Pearl Brad and I added a few cchocolate glittery pearls here and there. I coloured Willow with my Copics and I cut the image out with my Label 8 Nesties and inked with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress inks with the Ranger Ink Blending tool and foam pad. I also cut out the sentiment, which is from a My Favorite Things Stamps A La Mode stamp set, with my Circle Nesties and Lacey Scalloped Circles Nesties

My Favorite Things...WSC Challenge # 7...Daughters are flowers...!

Photobucket
Hey stampin' friends! Hope you all had a great Family day!!! I cleaned the house, whoo hoo, lol! Well, I did make a few cards too and this is the card I made this evening for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge. This week's sketch allowed me to sift through all the great MFT sentiments that I have for just the right one. I decided on this one, "Daughters are flowers that are forever in bloom", from a small sentiment set that I think came in the Baby Bump VIP kit, but I'm not sure. I teamed it up with some MME Alphabet Soup Boy and Girl papers. Did you notice? Yup, I sewed on my card...real sewing!!! I pulled out the old clunker of sewing machine that my mom gave me and I tried my hand at some real stitching...it is really wonky but I kind of like it! I distressed the edges of the papers so I'm just going to say that I wanted it wonky, smile! At least that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Photobucket
I save clothing tags to use on my cards and the denim strip with snap is from a tag off  a pair of my Hubby's jeans. I added the pretty flower that I made with my Die-namics rolled flower die, and I also use the Die-namics Flower trio and leaf die set. I cut the flowers from some Technique Tuesday Textile circles and scalloped circles that I had in my stash from my scrapbooking days. The Textiles have adhesive on one side so I placed a large textile circle on the patterned paper and then cut it out with the rolled flower die, crinkled it up in my hand a bit so that the edges of the fabric would fry, then rolled it up.  The pattern paper shows on the inside of the rolled flower. I layered the rolled flower with one of the flowers that I cut from the pattern paper with the Trio flower and one of the Technique Tuesday Textile scalloped circles and I cut the the leaves from the textile circle as well.

Photobucket

Here is the inside. I used one of the sentiments from the My How You've Grown WTG set and stamped in on the kraft card that is cut with the die from the Die-namics Textile Rectangle die and stamp set. The sentiment "Happy B-day" is from a MFT Sentiment set but I'm not sure the name of it and I stamped it on a QuicKutz tag.

Well, I am going to make a tea and settle in to watch my fave show Castle that is on tonight! Well, I hope you have a stampin' great week!

BasicGrey Challenges # 38 and Magnolia Down Under Challenges # 84...Love Beyond Measure!

Photobucket
Good morning...back with my second post this morning...scroll down to see my Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge card!

Today I have combined my BasicGrey Challenges and Magnolia Down Under Challenges card together! We have a fabulous sketch over at BasicGrey Challenges by the super talented and sweet Heather and at MDUC the challenge is Distressing!!!!

We are very excited at BasicGrey Challenges to say that we have 9 very talented ladies joining the BasicGrey Challenges DT it was very difficult to select the new members as we had an overwhelming number of talented entrants. We will also be having Guest DT members regularly so keep an eye out for that...it could be you! So please welcome, Angelique, Cathy, Fleur, Hanna, Jacqui, Julie, Liz Mieko and Sandie to the BasicGrey Challenges DT!

For my card I have used Pyrus 6x6 Papers and various BG painted brads and buttons. I also used some World Wind cardstock that I have had in my stash forever and distressed the edges of the cardstock and stamped with my Kelly Panacci Stitches stamps.  I have also used this sweet special edition "Celebration Tilda" that I just love to bits. I couldn't resist getting her from creashop-duymelot. I have coloured her with my Copics and used the Toner Copics to tone down the Orange and Aqua so that it coordinated with the muted colours in the paper better....LOVE the toner Copics...so worth getting some for you Copic collection, smile! Then I cut Tilda out and pop-dotted her on the oval. I also used my Marianne D flower dies and QuicKutz leaves. The sentiments are Melissa Frances rub-ons and I thought the sentiment "Love Beyond Measure" would be perfect with Tilda as it looks like she is holding up her arms to say "I love you thiiissss much" just like my kidos did when they were little, smile. To finish it off I added some crinkled seam binding, cotton lace trim and tied the button on with hemp twine.
Photobucket

Here is the inside...I used another Melissa Frances rub-on, on a QuicKutz tag...the Cutie Patootie ticket is from Stamping Bella stamped on Kraft card cut out and inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Photobucket
Well, thanks so much for stopping by again this morning and having a wee peek at my card! I hope you can join us at BasicGrey Challenges and Magnolia Down Under Challenges! Please stop by the challenge blogs too and have a look-see at the gorgeous creations the respective DTs have made to inspire you!!!!

I soooo loved using this sketch that Elaine designed for us this week... definitely one to use again!  I decided to ink up Olivia Orange from the Berry Girls release! I teamed her up with papers from the 6x6 Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper pad! I coloured her with my Copics, of course and I am actually really happy with how her hair turned out!!  I cut her out leaving some white around the image and pop-dotted her on a Nestie Circle. I added some cotton lace trim and sheer orange ribbon from my stash. I added some orange Prima Painterly flowers with green half pearls. I used the coordinating sentiment that comes with Olivia and cut it out with a Nestie tag and I left the tag in the die and inked with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink.

Photobucket
Here is the inside....very simple I used my fave birthday sentiment from Kimmie's Everyday Sentiment set and I inked again with Spice Marmalade Distress ink.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge... Make Your Own Embellishments...Happy Spring!

Photobucket

Good morning stampin' friend! Glad to see you all enjoyed the anything but a card challenge that we had last week at Simon Says Stamp Challenge! So many gorgeous and creative projects!!! Well, this week we have another great challenge for you....Make Your Own Embellies....and the Simon Says Stamp Challenge DT have made gorgeous creations, once again to inspire you!

We also have a fabulously generous prize from Heidi again this week! A Whopping $50 gift voucher for the Simon Says Stamp Superstore! Whoo hoo!!!!!

This week I used this adorable little Pure Innocence girlie called My Umbrella from My Favorite Things Stamps and I am on a wee bit of an Echo Park paper kick at the mo. Just can't get enough so I pulled out my Echo Park Christmas paper called Merry Christmas. I hardly touched this paper when I was making all my Christmas cards but this paper is so gorgeous and versatile that I thought it would be perfect for a non-christmas card. Well, not only is this not a Chirstmas card but a very non-traditional Happy Spring card...but I think it still works and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Edited: I forgot to mention when I typed up this post late last night that I made this card following the great sketch that they have this week at Friday Sketchers # 141! Really love this sketch...definitely one to use again!

I paper pieced my sweet Little PI Girlie to have a totally co-ordinating rain set and I coloured the rest of her with my Copics! I cut the image out with my rectangle Nestibilites and I inked with Old Paper Distress ink.  I thought the music paper  from the Echo Park Merry Christmas pack was fun to use as this image reminded me of the song "Singing in the Rain"! I added some satin ribbon from my stash and for my "made" embellie I cut felt flowers with the My Favorite Things Flower and Leaf trio Die-namics die set and the Perfect Petal Trio Die-namics die set. I aslo used my MFT Simply Scallops border die.

Photobucket

I also added some BasicGrey buttons and some white pearls. For the sentiments I used 2 other My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Stamp sets....My Basket of Eggs and Something Special Just For You. The bottom sentiment is stamped on the die that comes with the My Favorite Things Polka Dot Greetings die and stamp set.

Photobucket

Here is the inside under the easel card....I stamped the PI Girl, My Umbrella, again this time in Rhubarb Stalk memento ink.  I love the way this looks and I also stamped the "xoxo" from the PI set Something Special Just for You.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my Simon Says Stamp Challenge card! I really hope you can join us this week! Please pop on over to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge DT's blogs and see all the gorgeous creations they have made this week!

Happy Stampin'!

My Favorite Things...WSC Challenge # 6...Thank You...!

Photobucket

Hey stampin' friends! Just a quick post this morning to share the card I made for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge! I really liked this sketch # 6 as I don't normally make cards with just a sentiment as the focal point but it was fun to do something a bit different and actually a nice break from colouring up an image! I needed to make a thank you card and this sentiment from the Clearly Sentimental About Harvesting was perfect for what I had in mind. I used up some of the last bits of my fave Echo Park, Life is Good paper and I used some MFT Pink Stripped Twill and pink pearls from the dollar store. I also made a pink felt rolled flower using the Die-namics Rolled Flower die and My Favorite Felt. I cut the sentiment out with my Nestie die and left it in the die and inked with Tumbled Glass Distress ink.

The other day when I was at Crop Circles in Peterborough, Helen, showed me this fabulous glitter called Crystal Glitter Ritz and explained how to use it to get the Burnished Velvet Crystal effect using a sheet of Scor-Tape. I knew instantly that I wanted to use it on this card. It was really hard to take a good pic to show how sparkly it is IRL! It also feels velvety smooth...hence the name Burnished Velvet.

Photobucket
Here, I tried to take a pic that would show the sparkle but it looks and feels so much better IRL!

Photobucket
Here is the inside....I used this sweet PI Girl called Blooming Good Day stamped in Rose Bud Memento ink and again I used an MFT Die-namics Framed Greetings stamp and die set and the Burnished Velvet Glitter using the Crystal Glitter Ritz.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and havin' a wee peek at my MFT WSC challenge card!

Have a stampin' great day!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 65 and Krafty Peek Day 4...A List...You're Nifty!

Photobucket
Good morning krafty friends! Are you lovin' all the fabulous previews of the Kraftin' Kimmie February release as much as I am? I know, the Krafty Girls and Krafty Guests are ROCKIN' this release! So much gorgeous eye candy!!!!

Well, it is Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge day and Day #4 of the Krafty peeks! This week the oh sweet Donna is our hostess and she has a list for us to follow...3 different colours, 2 different patterned papers, 1 ribbon and 1 button....great challenge, eh? Well, I really hope you can join us this week! If you do and you use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamped image on your creation then you will be entered into the random draw to win your very own Joanie stamp as featured on Donna's stunning card!

Photobucket
Well, for my card today I have used the cutie patootie, Judy! I think she might be my fave but hard to say, cuz I really love all the 50's inspired images by Annie in this new release. I coloured Judy with my Copics and I cut her out with my circle Nesties using the out of the box technique. I embossed and left the image in the die and inked with Worn Lipstick Distress ink. I matted the image with the Lace Circle Nestie. The 3 colours I used, I picked from the 2 gorgeous sheets of paper from my MME Tickled Pink 6x6 paper. I went with pink, orange and aqua. I used some of this gorgeous shimmery and crinkly orange ribbon from my stash and a BG button tied with hemp twine.

I picked up some really neat transparent Ultra fine glitter at Crop Circles in Peterborough the other day called, Crystal Glitter Ritz. I had an idea how I could use it on this card. I die cut the QuicKutz cherries to pick up on the cherries in the MME paper and cuz I think Judy is enjoying a cherry Coke, smile.  I also cut the round circles from a 5x5 sheet of Score-Tape and placed the cut out adhesive over the round circles cut from the pink cardstock. Then I sprinkled on the clear Crystal Glitter Ritz and "burnished" it with my finger. This is an important step to get the super sparkly and velvety effect of the Glitter Ritz. It is sooooo sparkly IRL and just adds a little extra pizazz to the die cut cherries. I added some Twinery Twine in Mandarin. I struggled to find the perfect spot for my sentiment so I decided to not add one to the front of the card and just added it to the inside...this sentiment actually comes with Fanny!

Photobucket

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my Kraftin' kimmie Stamps challenge card! Please hop on over to the KKStamps blog and take a look at all the gorgeous cards by all the Krafty Girls and Guests for this week's challenge! I am sure you will be inspired to join us! I used some of my new fave paper, Echo Park Be, Mine paper! The black, grey and hot pink are just the perfect colours for these 50's inspired images by Annie. I also added some Prima flowers with pearls and American Crafts ribbon and cardstock.

Photobucket

Simon Says Stamp Challenge... Anything but a card...Be Mine...Toilet Paper Roll Mini-album!

Photobucket

Hey! Happy hump day, stampin' friends! WOWZERS! Soooooo many folks joined us at Simon Says Stamp last week. I don't think I have ever seen so many people join a challenge before in my life! That was awesome!!!! We have a wonderful new designer joining the team too. Kathy is soooo super talented please check out her blog and give her a warm welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge DT.

So we have another fabulous challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog. This week we would like to see anything but a card! The Simon Says Stamp DT are featuring "All Things Tim Holtz" this week too. You can join us and use your Tim Holtz products too or not...your choice!

We also have a fabulous prize again this week. A whopping $50 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Superstore. I know you won't have any trouble spending it. The store is chalked full of crafty goodness!

Photobucket

So, I decided to channel my inner "Tim" and get really inky for this challenge! When I first saw this toilet paper roll mini-album, I knew I had to give it a go and that it would be perfect for this weeks challenge....Anything but a card!!!

So, I flattened and covered 4 toilet paper rolls with this luscious Echo Park Be Mine paper from the Simon Says Stamp store with Zip Dry. I painted the edges of 2 covered rolls with Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint and the other 2 with Pewter Distress Crackle Paint.  Then I took 4 shipping tags and I inked them with the Worn Lipstick and Black Soot Distress ink like Tim demonstrates in this video to get "The Perfect Distress" look. For the tag that is showing I used a Tim Holtz mini-mask and inked with Black Soot Distress ink using the blending tool like Tim demonstrates in this video. I then used various stamps on all the tags from this gorgeous Tim Holtz set called Urban Grunge and I especially love the text stamp in this set and will be using it more often. I added Perfect Pearls to the tags for a subtle shimmer. To embellish I used American Crafts ribbon from my stash and I also cut some Grunge paper with my Die-namics Little Open Scallop border die and rolled rose die. I then inked with Worn Lipstick. I added some of the stickers that come in the Be Mine paper pack by Echo Park and some bling and pearls. I  added some gorgeous Pink Prima flowers and Grey Prima Flowers that co-ordinate perfectly with the Be Mine paper. To attach all the toilet rolls I used my Crop-O-dile and attached extra large eyelets and use binder rings and then added lots of ribbon.

Photobucket
For the tag I thought I would add King Tilda...she is so cute. I coloured her with Copics and cut her out and pop-dotted her on the tag. I also added Gold Stickles to her crown. You can also add small photos to the tags if you want.

This toilet paper roll mini-album was so much fun to make and I really enjoyed getting really inky and creative with all the fabulous products that Tim Holtz has created for us! You can get soooooo many of his products at Simon Says Stamp Superstore! Just click on the "All Things Tim Holtz" link at the top of the side bar on the Simon Says Stamp SuperStore!  The new products just released at CHA are coming soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a wee peek at my Simon Says Stamp project. Please visit the other DT girls to see all their stunning creations!  I hope you can join us this week!

Get inky!
